Genesis 6:5-9
The story of Noah is not about a boat. It is about a man. Noah was a special man. He was not special because of who his father was. His father had many other sons and daughters and we don’t even know their names. He was not special because of his abilities, his wealth or his position in society. None of these things are even mentioned in the story of Noah. He was not special for when or where he lived. He was special for one reason. He was special for the way he lived.
In the midst of a wicked and depraved world Noah lived righteous. In a world filled with violence, depravity and abuse, Noah lived blameless. He did not seek to get even, to get ahead or even to get his share. He treated others as God would have him treat them. He also walked with the Lord. He lived in fellowship with God. Noah was special because he was righteous, and he found favor and grace in the eyes of Lord.
We still live in a wicked world. A world that tells us we’re not special, we do not have the right last name, we are not smart enough and we are not talented enough. The world tells us we do not have enough money or power to make a difference. We will never be special. The world lies!
Noah was special, and he was used by God to save his family and the human race. Living with God changes everything. Listen to God and follow his directions; He will use you to save the lost. Allow Him and God will always make you special.
