Hebrews 11:23 “By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.”
Wickedness does not value human life. The world we live in today starts the devaluation of humanity at the point of conception. The world says that until a baby takes its first breath, it is not human; it is not a life. In fact, many believe it is much less than a life. They believe the unborn baby is a mere inconvenience, and an unviable t issue mass. They believe mothers can destroy and dispose of this life at will. Abortion is a great wickedness, but the wickedness of the pharaoh was even greater. He passed a Decree ordering the death of all Hebrew baby boys. When the midwives out of fear of God refuse to carry out the Decree, the pharaoh ordered all of his people to drown Hebrew baby boys.
When Moses was born, by faith his parents hid him. They loved God and their baby more than they feared the pharaoh. Because of their faith and their faithfulness, God was able to work in the circumstances to save the life of Moses. If they had chosen to obey the pharaoh rather than to do the right thing, I believe their lack of faith would have changed the history of humanity. I believe our faith gives God the freedom to work His will without violating the freewill He has given us. Godly faith makes a difference; if we choose to disbelieve or disobey God bad things happen.
When his parents looked at him, they saw that Moses was no ordinary child. God looks in every child in the same way. When He looks at His children, He does not see any as being ordinary. To God every person is special. When we see others the way God does, we will find the faith we need to do the right thing. Faith and love will overcome fear.
